I made some liquid fertilizer in an old tub about two years ago with nettles, grass cuttings, horse manure and water. I dilute it before use and have had some good results with it. I keep adding to it as it gets used and I wondered if it can go off or turn sour ?.

If you have had it for 2 years I know for a fact it will be the worst smelling thing on the planet.
When I have made a similar mix it will take your breath away after just a few weeks.
I think you should be included in the honours list for attemping to use it.
Cant really say that I would want to use it at that age, purely down to the aroma, but if is still giving you results then why not ?

My eyes are watering at the thought of it !

Good morning Al and thanks for your reply. I just wasn't sure if this stuff has a use by date on it and obviously I couldn't tell if it was off just by smelling it.
It really has past all my expectations in helping with the growth of some of my plants especially with the hanging baskets, but I didn't want to risk it on my tomatoes, which by the way are coming on a treat.
Thanks again zab.
You should feed the tomatoes every week .. if it works on everything else then go for it. I use a similar stuff made from seaweed. It smells like the devil but all the veg like it.
Remember to remove any leaves below the first fruits, all the side shoots, water once a day and you will be making tomato soup in no time.
Remember last years disasters .... All will come to those who dont give up !
