Anyone any experience of this? It's sort of very dark blue in the tin and when it goes on the table it's still bluey but I can see it's sort of browny too. I can only assume it dries walnut as it says on the tin, it is Ronseal after all!

// if that’s the case. // Don't be churlish ZM. No "if" about it. I was keeping that info up my sleeve Mints. Needless to say TTT can rest assured that I am not one to be malicious........plus having had sight of him, would not relish a ferocious biker on my doorstep. (^_*)

It might be an anti discolouration additive. Try it on the u/s of the table top first.

what would be the point of that? I bought walnut, I want walnut. I'll see what it dries like. It's got to have another coat anyway.
The chemical composition of it presumably makes it look blue when looking at several centimetres depth...an applied layer is many thousands of times "thinner"....so no blue colour.
I think the blue pigment is an anti "yellowing" agent TTT. Still you will have a lovely "tan" or have to move up to Scotland with all the other Picts until it wears off. :))
It could also be a chemical which changes as the varnish dries as part of the hardening process.

here's a picture of it just brushed on, see the blue tinge?

Just slightly TTT. btw that link may be showing more info than you may wish. I think you ought to ask for it to be removed. If you look at a colour spectrum wheel you will see that blue is opposite yellow. I think the blue tinge is, as I said, to prevent yellowing after uv exposure.

cheers togo, owe you one, link not working now.
That's OK TTT. I reported it as well, with a reason for my concern.
For Funks Sake that’s exactly what I meant but when Togo says it, it’s taken as good advice. What a plonker.
What was that about?^^ Late night again. (*_*)
Me: It might be an anti discolouration additive
Tora: I bought walnut, I want walnut

Just read the posts ZM. The 13:31 post in particular. TTT's thanks were nothing to do with the Ronseal............Read it.
agree Togo..
Yeah Minty. TTT's link came with personal info that could have been used by the malicious. In two minutes I was able to find where he lived, who he worked for, and a picture of him in his motorcycling gear.
My apologies if that’s the case.
you didn't mention the one in his wife's underwear with a rose between his teeth !!!
