i got the spuds but i see they take over an hour in the oven any tips like can i microwave it then pop it in the oven to crisp off please help its cold and i just want a jacket potato with cheesy beans
OH puts them in the microwave making sure she sticks fork in them a few times first to break skin then puts in oven for around 15 minutes to crisp them up. Works well.
Simply microwave it. (If you try to crisp it off in the oven, it'll still take ages).
I buy the jacket potatoes that comes in packs of four in allk of the main supermarkets. (I mention that purely to give you an idea of their size). Using an 800 watt microwave oven, I zap them for 3½ minutes, turn them over and then give them a further 3½ minutes. That seems to get them just right.
they are jacket potatoe in a bag they are not frozen and they have the skin on imagine just a big potato from the ground but cleaned so i pierce with a fork then microwave for what ten minutes or what
I put the oven on. Then put the spud in the micro for ten minutes while the oven is warming up. Into the oven the spud then goes for about ten minutes or so.
I always slice a cross on the top of jacket spuds as I find just pricking them doesn’t always stop them exploding in the micro.
thanks everyone im just so cold and a bit tired today it has been a long week and i just want a nice jacket potato with some beans and cheese to comfort me so what i will do is microwave it like buenchico has reccomended because it sounds like we have a similar potato then i will pop it in the oven or maybe the grill to crisp off whilst i make the beans and stuff
I do three at a time for the boys I look after, medium size spuds and put them all in together for about fifteen minutes. Turn them over after about ten minutes then let them stand for a minute after microwaving.
Another quick way of crisping the skins is to cut the potato in half after microwaving, and putting skin side up under a very hot grill. Better results if you brush with a bit of oil before grilling
