Well, very grey and windy here, tho they are promising some sunshine later! Yesterday late morning I was in my kitchen just looking out of the window onto a shrub outside when I saw something move, and when I looked closer I could see it was a Robin. Now I very rarely see birds in the garden but I put that down to having cats, but even rarer is to see a Robin - can't even remember the last time I saw one, but it really made  me smile - they are just so pretty.
Had a hospital letter arrive yesterday too  for an appointment I've been waiting for  - the date is 10th April 2025!! Well I guess ai can't say they haven't given me enough notice!! LOL!

Morning all.

A robin lives in my garden and I did see a bird in my garden recently that I have seen locally for years - a sparrow!

Question Author

Good morning Barry! Ohh you've got a Robin that lives in your garden, how lovely! They are just so pretty.

Did you see my latest pigeon post on your yesterdays thread, Smow? 😱

Hope the windy comment is mother nature and not yourself Smow.

I need to cut back on baked beans and other gaseous foods😏

But, releasing pressure is good for the soul😇

Question Author

Just seen it Barry - oh no! Thats sad : (

Morning oz, no not me lol. Would be a good day for washing on the line here, but only if rain holds off!

And I'd love a tad of rain, so jealous,,

How green is your pasture?

Question Author

You can have some of our rain Oz! When did you last have any?? I don't have actual grass in my garden as it is all patio etc, with all shrubs and flowers in pots and flower beds, but where I live is full of green areas, parks, wooded areas, even all the roundabouts are all grass, tho everyone moans when they aren't mowed for a while and the grass gets too long lol. Some people just like moaning!

I love moaning, more rain thanks,  less frosty mornings.

Sunshine is welcomed during winter 😨

Question Author

You have frost at the moment?

Morning Smow, barry and lozzy and all to arrive later.

Thanks for doing this daily post Smow , its a nice start to the day.

Nothing planned for the day today, must try and get back into reading, maybe something light

Question Author

Ahh Thanku Rosetta, and for joining in! I have to confess that due to extreme insomnia the starting times vary quite a bit but at least I start it lol!

At the moment I'm reading ' The Woman Who Went to Bed for a Year' by Sue Townsend. Very funny and light-hearted. I've read it before, a long time ago, but it still makes me laugh. You should give it a try, I think you'd like it.

Thanks Smow, I have just ordered it for my kindle. Its years and years since I read Adrian Mole of hers

Question Author

Good yes, I forgot about that. This is about a woman whose teenagers go off to university and so she decides right, I'm gona stay in bed now for a rest - for a year!! She doesn't think about how is she gona eat, get to the loo etc etc.... it's hilarious!

Good morning Smow and everyone.
Bit overcast here today, but my watch says it's 18C out there.
Might try a new knit and natter group at our local library today, though I did give it a go last week and they were a bit stand offish. I'll give it another go and see if the same happens again.
Have a good day all whatever you're up to :)

Good morning ferlew, good to see you. Knit and natter group - is that literally what it sounds like, a knitting chat group? And you tried it last week?

Good morning Smow. Did you find the reason for the mysterious puddle yesterday?

Yes Smow, literally that. You can either take your own projects though some groups knit for various charities and hospitals.
I went last week, and of the 13/14 ladies there, only two spoke to meI'll give it another go this week, then at least I'll have tried eh?

Good morning Smow and all. We have the same weather as you Smow. I don't think I'd trust my washing to the line today. We get quite a few complaints locally about rewilded verges obscuring sight lines when joining a major road. The rewilded strip in our garden currently features a lot of grass, a dandelion, something that may be a chive and some very robust daisies.

Question Author

Morning Tilly. Nope the puddle mystery was never solved - I was almost wishing to wake up to another puddle just to prove I didn't imagine it lol!

oh definitely give it another try ferlew, maybe they're shy??

I have to admit impatiens that I do like the wild flower areas - look very natural, tho I do agree that on some of the grass verges etc they can get a tad TOO overgrown.
