Is There A Way To Find Out If Certain Plastic Container Are Foodsafe?
I have some plastic containers with lids that came with tie-dye kits.
Theyve never been used for that or anything, but theyre kind of nice so I wondered if i could use them for food - but there are no markings on them at all.
I wouldnt use in a microwave, just for eating from or storage, like salad, cereal, maybe putting cooked food into to eat from.
The kits contain proper dyes & are for doing proper tie-dying, but theyre marketed at kids/teens by the looks of the packaging.
The plastic is shiny, opaque, & firm with a very small amount of 'give' when squeezed.
I couldnt see anything on the packaging or leaflets, but it threw them out so I cant double check.
Any ideas?

If there is a symbol of a fork and cup it is deemed food safe.
There should also be a number inside a triangle which indicates the type of plastic, explained here

I wouldn't heat anything in the microwave in a plastic bowl or tub, I use glass or ceramics
