snails in a tropical aquarium

i have an established fish tank but i have touble with algae growing on the glass.. i do have two loaches and a pleco but they dont seem to keen on eating it!!

would one or two freshwater snails help?

i hear they will breed and overtake the tank.. any suggestions?

snails are evil they take over then you end up buying a certain type of loach (clown i think) to then kill the snail!!!!!!

I have endless snails in my tank and they help to block up the filter. I also have two clown loaches but they don't seem to eat the snails. I would ask at you pet store before putting snails in.

I always use a cleaning pad (available from pet shops) for cleaning the glass. My loaches don't keep it clean. Avoid snails they can overrun the tank and I doubt they would keep it clean anyway.

had one snail in my tropical tank which done the business. was a fair size and had nothing to breed with.
