Better lawns

What is the best way to improve my lawn? I live in a very sandy-soiled area, and the grass looks very damaged after all the recent rain.

This is the time of year to apply a general lawn fertilizer. You could also spike with a fork to let some air in but if you are in a sandy area the water should drain fairly well and your lawn should perk up. You can start seeding bald patches towards the end of the month.
