If There Was Any Doubt Of Labour's Anti...

I've got two lovely bronze coloured cordylines on my roof terrace but they're being attacked by something.
The leaves are off colour, and the news ones coming through the centre are being eaten by something - the main fronds are disappearing and all that's left is the stringy skeleton.
Any ideas what's causing this and what action I can take? (I do have problems with snails on my hostas....is this similar?). Thanks
