Well just stick with the goddam psycho cat then Jude as you so obviously think he makes more sense than I do he he he. Seriously though I'm not offended. It is difficult to explain a whole philosophy in a couple of AB posts. The short and sweet of it is: Just think of the cards as suggestions for topics to discuss. The rest will come naturally and new insights will evolve as your own psyche, wisdom and maturity blend with that of the tarot reader. There's is no magic in the cards themselves, the answer lies in the process of wording your question and in your own reaction to the cards. The same constellation of cards will mean different things to you on different days. But the cards will always mean something to you, on each given occasion, as they lend themselves willingly to a multitude of interpretations.
So - you may ask - if the cards don't tell the future and they can mean anything really, then why not just have the same conversation with a wise person without the cards? No reason why not! Using the cards is just a way of preparing yourself to pay attention to your inner compass, that's all. A tarot reading IS mysterious - but so is a really good talk with a friend. I do believe you get in touch with some kind of collective source in either case.
You have an actual physical deck too, Woofgang?
Best laugh today: QuizMonsters joke, post No. 13 on my 'Church Shock' thread in Phrases & Sayings. I laughed so hard I cried.
