It is to put next to my rats cage as he has breathing problems. The plant has to be easy to look after and of course not poisionous or harmful.

Many thanks

Not too sure about oxygen but the peace lilly (spathiphyllum walisii) are known for removing large amounts of toxins and pollutants from the air
please note the peace lily is harmful if eaten (for humans, not sure about rats) I doubt if there is any plant that will help breathing problems as the amount given offf will be very small. Try a Vet??

There is a great book calle 'Eco-friendly House Plants' - you should be able to get it in the library - have a look in that.
