i am thinking of renewing the fence around my garden and would like to replace my wooden posts with concrete ones, however my garden isn't square so when i need to go off at an angle do i need to sink two concrete posts next to each other or can i get away with just the one? also how do i attatch a wooden gate to a concrete post???
use a post with pre-drilled holes in and bolt the hinges to the post going through the holes for the gate. As for the fence posts, this will depend on the angle required and the type of fixings you will be using. If these are also bolt on fixings then it will not be possible to go at an angle unless you use angled bolts. It can be done. Just ask at the place where you intend to buy them and they should give you the correct kit.
as a fencing contractor i would say it depends on the angle of the bends? it is possible to go course with 1 post but going to much will expose the fencing panel to less stress in the post (it has more chance of blowing out)!! but i cant see anything wrong with say a 10 past 6 shape???
gate..... we use motorway rails (3 x 1 1/2) cut to lenght...and bolt this onto the concrete post with wall anchors (m10) size, you then hang the hinges off this?
i hope this helps........................and if your local to me and need a quote for supply only or supply and fit i will more than happy to help.
