At the moment we have to beds of primulas which I gre from seed last year.My husand wants to take them out when they finish flowering as he says they look untidy.I think this is a shame - any suggestions please ?

Good idea but not very practical - he does come in useful sometimes !!!!!!!
Don't you have a corner of the garden where they can be planted to be resurrected for next year I often do this in the veggie patch

We are not lucky enough to have a veggie patch but we were thinking that maybe we could pot them up for the summer and replant them in the autumn ?
You should be able to keep them flowering for a bit longer by dead heading The plants should split as well to make more If you can't find room give them away someone will find them a good home Has your local church got a garden?

Take them out ! He should take you out instead.... to a romantic candle-light resturant, then you can break the news, he's just been out-voted ;�)
