Poor and bad draining soil
4 Answers
I have a garden that has very poor soil (90% builders rubble) which holds a lot of water. I am struggling to find and kind of plant that I can grow along the borders. I dont want to have to spend hundreds of pounds in digging the whole thing up. I just need some kind of plant that will make a pleasant looking border
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Our best specimen we bought last year was a Gunnera, it was huge but it all died back and I thought we had lost another one but this year it is back with vigour and is getting really big, they love water and bogginess, and can look quite startling round a pond, or grassed edge. Lillies and Hostas are good too, but watch the little slugs with the hostas.
