Moving a houseplant to another location

The plant in question is a succulent, the name of which escapes me. It has around 20 'dangles' some of them 3' or so and is pale green. Each stem is covered with small protuberences for want of a better word and, if you touch them, they immediately fall off. I want to take it to my new abode but even if I put, say, tissue paper around each stem, most of the bits are sure to fall off. It is in a 7" high x 5" ceramic flowerpot. Has anyone - experienced garden centre person, florist or anyone reading this any input? If not, I'll reluctantly have to give the plant to my neighbour.

Sounds like an easter or christmas cactus .The little bits that are falling off are the flower buds.They hate draughts and don't like being moved !
Is it like this ?

Shaneystar2. Thanks, but neither of those you mention. I'm thinking of chopping off the long branches, which will probably finish it off altogether.

Sorry I couldn't help ..can't think what else it could be .
You could give a go ..chop the bits off ..it may recover with a bit of TLC .Good luck in your new home .
