I believe the crossword setter for the MOS Prize Crossword has got the answer to 23d incorrect. The illegitimate son of Gloucester in King Lear is Edmund or Edmund not Edgar which is the answer here. Any thoughts on this from all you out there?
Hi teddybear484 - I was just about to post the same query here. I'm surprised no-one else has questioned this. We obviously have to give the answer as Edgar but it is clearly not correct as he was legitimate.
Thank you for that information slark. I'm afraid I don't have a chance to look at the site until later in the day but no doubt I would have been directed to the earlier query if I had actually asked the question.
Have pointed this out too, thought I had studied Shakespeare for nothing, illegitimate son was indeed Edmund or Edmond.... 6 letters, not Edgar 5letters as set by mos......still they can't blame us if they set the question wrong !!!!!!!
