family fruit trees

My daughter wants to grow fruit trees, we have only a limited space and family trees seem to be the answer. Any suggestions about what might be the best to groe?

How about a Victoria Plum it can be pruned to the size you want and gives such lovely fruit (the Royal Horticultral does good book on pruning the plum).

Send for his brochure and you will find everything from a peach tree for a patio, two types of apple on one tree, miniarettes, espallier...all sorts. I have cherry, plum and apple that never grown more than 6 - 7 foot high and about a foot wide.
