Sorry if this is not the right section.
How does woodworm move from one piece of furniture to another?
I have found woodworm in 2 pieces of furniture that we are clearing from my step father's house. They were both in one room. Might it be possible for the woodworm to move to furniture in another room? It was definitely active in these two pieces.

They fly. If you prise one out of its hole with a pin you'll see they have wings. Pesky critters.

Are they like moskito shaped and flit about slowly & randomly. I have seen some flying about here as well. I try to kill them but usually miss.

you should treat the active woodworm grubs in the furniture to kill them off
As I remember they are a bit bigger than a pinhead, very dark coloured and difficult to see when flying. I don't remember them looking like mozzies. (I'm not saying we were poor as kids but they were the nearest thing we had to pets lol)

Thanks for your help, I did google it, but couldn't see how they moved.
The house will be cleared and I wont be bringing any of the stuff over here.
Thanks again.
stand the offending articles on a white sheet or paper, if the pesky critturs are still active, you will see a very fine wood powder, the product of their boring( ? ) activities
