Did you cut them down too soon after flowering? if so bin them. You must let daffs die back and look dead before lifting them, or you can lift and bury them in a spare bit of garden until they die back.
I agree that you should not cut back foliage too soon,leave it to die back naturally. If the bulbs are very crowded dig them up and space. Give the bulbs a feed of potash now and that should kick start the flowering for next season. The flowers willl start to develop in the bulb now for flowering next spring for you to enjoy!
