Weeds are weeds as they turn up in places you don't want them to. I know what you mean though. I have some dandelions growing from my back door step & they looked nice so I left them! xxx
Is it maybe because they take over and suffocate other plants and stop them from growing so well? I guess some 'weeds' are more tolerable than others. One person's weed is another's wild flower e.g. buttercups and daisies.
Plants have a place in the sheme of things and as you say weeds are just plants in the wrong place so decide yourself if you want 'em in your garden but please keep youd 'lions to yourself and don't let the seeds blow over the fence.
Too much trendy Bollox talked about weeds etc. Have a squint at the Chelsea show on telly and see how many folk exibit , knotweed, bindweed. brambles. dandelions etc etc

a weed is a plant that you - or gardeners generally - think does things you don't want it to, such as crowding out other plants, having thorns, or being hard to eradicate when you don't want it. It depends where you are. Oxalis is a pretty little pot plant in Britain; where I came from it's infuriating stuff that spreads like crazy and takes forever to dig up. Can't believe you Brits like the stuff.
woofgang, Lovely to see you back on here, if indeed you are the same, if so, it was you, some years ago, that answered and my first question, (about Bees), and welcomed me to the site,
In those days, I was known as Chessman.
