My mother bought my grandma's house from the council a few years ago, She had to have my grandmas name on the morgage so it is a joint morgage but my mum pays it. My gran has just found out she has cancer and untill results come back unknown if its treatable. (Looking on the worse side as shes 75.) what would happen as i think my mum is only insured if she come out of work i did ask her to check but hasn't as yet and the rest of the family are asking me what would happen!
Please can anyone help?

If there is any sort of endowment on your grandmother's mortgage that pays it off in the event of her death, then the mortgage may be paid off if it happens.

If not, your mother will continue to pay the mortgage.
