Fly Eggs?
5 Answers
Hi. Hope someone can help. I've noticed over the past couple of days or so what I think are tiny black eggs on floors in my house. They are only a couple of millimetres in length and in irregular shaped groups of 20 or so. You can see them in patches on the hard surface flooring in my house. I live in an area surrounded by farms, so I thought at first they were fly eggs - not too sure now though.

It is puzzling why any insect would place its eggs on a hard floor. They usually lay them near or on where the hatched larva find their food. Are you sure it isn't the dropping of a large farm fly that spent the night on the ceiling above?
