I'm confused? Leaving aside for a minute all the roll0ckings for no insurance, as it's not your fault, how do they even know you are uninsured?
I have been hit by people before and I always refuse to give my insurance deatails because it's irrelevant when it's not your fault. Yes I know, you must inform your own insurance yada yada yada...... b0wlocks, I never do because they always load your premium even when the other company pays, it's only your insurers own admin rules anyway.
If the police get involved and ask for your insurance then fine, otherwise no need to mention them.

You shouldn't have been driving without Insurance and as a concequence this has happened. What if someone had been badly injured or killed even. You obviously don't think of anyone else. It is a good job the police were not called to the scene or you would have been fined and had points put onto your licence.
Indeed, you are legally obliged to provide your insurance details to anyone who has a direct interest in an incident, so even if an accident is non-fault but the guilty party requests your insurance details, you must, by law, provide them.
It is easy to find out whether a vehicle is insured or not by logging onto www.askmid.com which is the motor insurance database on which all cars insured in the UK will be on.
Unfortunately, the fact that you are uninsured and should not even have been on the ******* road in the first place you complete and utter ****, does not absolve the other person - you will still, annoyingly, be able to claim from his insurers.
