I have just brought a pack of dried goji berries because my husband reckons they help to stop you getting hungry inbetween meals. Thing is they taste horrible as they are, should i be doing something with them?

Definately an acquired taste, I bought a packet to try, and didn't get any more, they taste bitter.

But you are just supposed to eat them out of the packet.
I tried 'em too. My advice? - chuck them in the bin...
I know people who mix them with muesli. I guess if you're eating pollyfilla anyway a horrible bitter red bit of muck won't taste. Fortunately, the lady in the shop let me try one before I bought it. Why can't they find nice things that are the new good for you thing.!!!
ive tried ones covered in chocolate, they're not too bad but probably not as healthy that way!
Add them to boiling water with lemon juice and drink - it's very refreshing :) And they taste nicer when they are soften by the hot water
Tibetans use goji berries as medicine. One berry is considered to be very potent - they treat them as precious - and we ship 'em out and eat them in huge quantities!! Treat them with respect...
I bought a bag of these a month ago.... now being a veggie, I thought I was used to most tastes.. but they were horrible ! Sorry, really bitter and foul tasting.. The bag went in the bin - but if they were *off* I would be happy to have another go.
I understood you had to soak them. I bought some once and soaked them but I still didn't like them. Maybe you could soak them and put them in fairy cakes or muffins?
Quality of goji berries vary alot. Chinese ones I understand are the worse, smaller pooere flavour. The Tibetian ones, and other non Chinese ones are better flavour and larger. The ones I tried were fine (not Chinese) to eat raw out the packet. Though I liked them in lemon tea, and good to add to museli and flap jacks.
I ate 1 pack which I got as a free sample, and have never bought them again due to price. I think there are other fresher and tastier and cheaper wonder foods, like pomegranites, blueberries, raspberries etc which are full of anti-oxidants. If you dont like them, try something else!
try it with cereal or yogurt, really improves de taste! Media URL: http://www.nutsonline.com/driedfruit/goji-berries/premium-new
