It's July and my Fig tree has lost all it's leaves. First of all they went limp, then speckly brown, then all fell off. It is showing signs of new shoots but they too are looking a little insipid. There are no signs of figs whatsoever! It has been very rainy of late so under-watering was not the problem.

Is it some kind of fungus?

...anyone?
Is the fig in a pot?
If so, is it properly drained (you've had very wet weather)
If not, remove from pot, repot in larger container ensuring good layer of drainage material in bottom (eg broken crocks). Replace as much of compost as you can with new stuff. Water in, then feed a few days later with general fertiliser. Keep the pot on some kind of stand (eg a couple of house bricks). This also assists in drainage.
If the fig is in the ground, again look at drainage, but also for evidence of soil parasites, such as honey fungus.

Thanks for the suggestion :) Yes it is in a pot, tho I don't think drainage is the problem as we put in quite a lot of gravel in the bottom and the water drains out the bottom no problem.

Is Honey Fungus specific to Figs?
