Moss in driveway - best way to get rid of it?

I looked through some old threads but of course a lot of proprietary products have had to change formula over past couple of years ... so -

Does anyone have a really good suggestion on how to shift moss from a fairly large area of stony driveway?

We have tried the Bayer and Weedol spray products but it's expensive, hard work and the moss is coming back (and those faffy sprays clog / don't get on with even a slight breeze). What we really need is something we can apply by watering can. If we can do that, then it's no big deal to re-treat as necessary.

Can we just apply household bleach and if so in what concentration? Someone mentioned road salt - same applies I guess. It's a fairly rough rural driveway of packed scalpins, so no worry about messing it up, but we can't very easily splash something on and brush it off

Any suggestions most gratefully appreciated.

Dilute it and use it with a watering can. It killed the moss, but
1) The dead moss tends not to just go away. Where you had lots of unsightly live moss you will have unsightly dead moss instead. Depending on the surface this might still be painful to get rid of.
2) Possibly I didn't dilute it as much as I could have but my driveway stank of the stuff for MONTHS!
3) Of course, it's only temporary. My drive needs doing every couple of years.

If you go with it do be careful about handling.

I have used sodium chlorate weedkiller but I don't disolve it in water I just apply the powder directly. Since this chemically poisons the soil it prevents further plant growths until it is eventually washed away by the rain. You do need to be really careful about where you apply it because once it disolves in the rain it can run off & may end up in adjacent flower beds unless you're very carefull! It is ideal for areas where you want no plant growth for a long time.

we use 'pathclear' which comes in sachets. you add it to a watering can and then just water over the area you want weed and moss free. we've used it for years and it gives great results very easily.

Well, now armed with Armillatox, we've had a go at the first stretch - here's hoping! Yes it does have a captivating aroma, but if it works I don't care.
Thanks to later respondents .. the sodium chlorate may be worth a try - I already have a big tubful (never tried it on moss, just weeds), so may have a parallel run to see which method works better.
Unfortunately, Pathclear does not give us a result on moss ... it has always been fine for weeds but the moss always hangs in (actually this year, even the grass and weeds have started to regrow whereas we normally only apply once per year - could be wet cold summer or could be the 'new' formula).
