Ten months ago I purchased a 12 year old Gunnera plant which I transplanted from barrel to garden. All ok until a month ago the large leaves started to turn purple around the edges then brown and crispy as if dying from lack of water, but with our weather and my wife being a compulsive waterer I doubt this is the cause. Is it possible to over water this plant or have you any other solution to this problem. Thank you, Ian.

They like a moist peat soil, maybe you've got a lime soil?
