what is the best compost to use for repotting my pachira and is winter the wrong time to repot

A good houseplant compost or general multi-purpose will be ok. I would re-pot in early spring so that it can begin to grow away in its new pot. They do like to be fairly restricted in the pot so dont go for one that is too big.
