Dwarf sweet cherry tree
3 Answers
My daughter has bought me a 'Piermont', dwarf sweet cherry tree (in a pot), from B & Q. I've looked everywhere I can think of for information, as to whether it's self-pollinating, or whether I need to buy another to go with it. And also, whether it is possible to grow it on in a container? No joy in any of my books, or google sites! Hope some-one can help. Thanks in anticipation - Sovay

The only info I could find online was on a german site, nothing in English whatsoever, but I asked a friend to translate for me, and it does say self-fertile.
It's also quite happy in a pot - mine is in a 60cm pot and it's far too big. I have other dwarf fruit trees growing happily in 34cm pots - Tesco are selling big pots for 2 at the moment if you don't have one already! Good luck, and enjoy your cherries!
