I have blocked paving (looks like a driveway) in the back garden i would like to put turf on it to make the garden look nice can i put the turf straight on to the paving or do i have pull all the bricks frist, or is there something i can put on top of the bricks before the turf

I suppose if you laid down 4 to 6 inches of top soil first the turf (it's called sod here in the U.S.) might live, although that's questionable. Your best course of action is to remove the bricks and work up the soil underneat, since it will be very compacted. Considering the cost of the turf, you'd do better assuring its growth by the extra effor...
Your lawn would be ok in the winter as long as there wasn't too hard a frost. However in a hot summer it would dry out and die.

Buy some artificial grass like some premier football pitches have, then you dont have any more worries.
