Gnomes are not everone's cup of tea. To some they may look cute, but to others they can look tacky.

Enjoy yours though. ;o}
I once bought my mum a gnome because I know she hates them. It was a tacky £2 thing from a garden centre.... She still to this day has it in her garden just to annoy me...
Fashions change, Mabel. You can bet they'll come a time when they're ' rediscovered' and then old ones will suddenly appear on the market .at enormous prices,no doubt,and new ones will fill the retail outlets We've seen it in other areas, from stevengraphs to Clarice Cliff, and we'll see it again.Strange thing, but you can go decades without seeing some objects at auction, then suddenly one or two fetch a price and magically hundreds appear.
You rascal diz!

You're right there Fred! We're avid watchers of the Antiques Road Show & are amazed at some of the items that have come back into fashion!

When I think of what our parents & we have given away, or thrown out over the years.....
Yes,smudge, I saw an art deco standard lamp fetch tens of thousands at auction, sold to a Japanese bank when art deco was coming' in' and the Japanese were big buyers.My mother had had the identical one.I asked 'What happened to that lamp?' and got the laconic reply 'Oh, that. I chucked that out years ago.Valuable?If I'd kept everything on the off-chance it would be valuable years later, I'd have needed a warehouse the size of Pickford's' [ Me :GROAN !] But she had a point.
Yeah, same with my parents too Fred! Those were the days eh?!! ;o}

they are all hiding on CB :-)
Society: Best answer yet, how true is that?
They tend to spent the cold UK winters in Spain, returning around the 15th May each year. Try in the shops again around that date.
I think the shop White Stuff kidnapped them all for their winter campaign... every shop window had hundreds of them and you could adopt them and take them home once the campaign ended
