Holes in Lawn - Help Please

I have just mowed my lawn, and thanks to the lovely badgers digging around it last autumn, they have left a few holes about half a foot deep, what is the best way to fill these in so I can let the grass regain its composure ??? Its a bit of a mess ! Thanks in advance !
