Tomato light requirement.
My tomatoes are in a greenhouse and get sunshine all day long . Which means plenty of light and heat .
However should the direct sunlight be subued. I have used bubble wrap on the glass which keeps the heat in, especially in spring and autumn but should it be removed/reduced to allow more direct sunshine on to the plants.

We have friends in Alaska (we're in the western U.S.) and they grow giant tomatoes due to nearly 20 hours of sunlight in the summer. They taste really good even with that much growth due, I suspect, to the volcanic enrichened soil.

Be careful with the watering, too much and the tom`s will split, too little and they get `Black Eye`, that`s a black spot on the base of the fruit, and give them a fine spray with water in the evenings when they are in flower, to help fertilize them and a little shake of the plant to also help fertilize, and you will be inundated with tom`s later in the season.
