we have a lovely mauve coloured hawthorne in the garden and i want to take some cuttings. can anyone tell me the best way to do this..... thanks

Are you in the UK? I only ask because hawthorn (also called May) is normally white with a pink/red ornamental version. never seen mauve.

yes in the uk, it was in the garden when we moved
Flowers can go a slightly plummy shade on alkaline soils but not a true mauve if it definitely a hawthorn phone round a few nurseries that specialise in trees it may be a new form and needs to be professionally propagated so we can all buy one, if it is a new plant then you will be able to register it and claim royalties on every plant sold. Could you post a photo I'd love to see it

could be that it is on an alkaline soil, will try to put a photo up, but not very technical.
I,ve checked most of the big suppliers none list a lilac or n
mauve hawthorn, might check with kew ... I am very curious now
