Beef Wellington, Fillet steak topped with a duxelle of wild mushrooms in truffle oil, wrapped in an all-butter pastry, served with a red wine sauce

Quorn and vegetable pie

Puds:
Raspberry and white chocolate pavlova

Peach mousse cake

Coffee and walnut gateau, with Espresso froth cream

Well....it wasn't, and the surgeon phoned me at 10.10pm last night asking if we could reschedule as he has a footballer that needed a knee op this morning. He wanted to do my op of Thursday instead, - anyway I've put off the surgery till after Christmas I'm far too busy and shouldn't have said yes to it in the first place, i don't know what I was thinking.

the kids love it JJ - that is my brother's kids! Mind you they'll eat practically anything, anything that is, except offal!!

i did wonder if it had something to do with you going into hospital mercia. i had one of my hip ops cancelled twice, drove me mad, just when i'd psyched myself up. don't think i could wait till after christmas though, but when you have to fit in around things it's a bit different i suppose.

This isn't about my hip eth, I've had trouble with my shoulder for about 18 months now, some days it just 'freezes' and it's very painful - it's lucky that i have mixers and blenders and all sorts of kitchen gadgets and stuff to help me when I cook, else I'd never get anything done some days!!

Very difficult decision today but I think I'll have avocado with prawns, beef wellington and pavlova, Very nice menu.
