......would most of the UK be covered in brambles and buddleia? That's what it looks like, looking at the untended patch up the road!

it would look just like my garden :)

LOL I like it..... scattered with a bit of yellow rape perhaps, and some of that beastly rose bay willow herb, to add colour?
And acid soils would be all rhododendrons until the japanese knotweed took over
we'd have more butterflies - bonus
And bees, birds, and other wild things....but biodiversity would go down....as tended gardens create different niche habitats
The field that we are converting into a wild garden was 12ft high in brambles, no one had been in the field for over 40 years, I had to use a chainsaw just to get through the gate, not a single blade of grass survived due to the lack of light at ground level, now that the light is hitting the ground we are struggling to keep the nettles back. We are winning slowly :-)
Surely the land would once again be covered by forests of oak and other native trees?
It would probably look like my neighbors back and front gardens, `flipping orrible.`
I do weed my garden, but I must admit that if the weeds are attractive one, then I leave them there, I don't like my garden to look too manicured.............I think it's so much more interesting if it looks a little wild!..............
The 'green people' would love it.
As sidkid says....it'll be full of Oak like it was 1,000 years ago. Trouble is, it'll take another 1,000 years to get to that stage
