Boiler noises
Hello Our Ferrolli recently fitted boiler(in an upstairs bedroom, makes a filling noise for about 5 mins 3/4 times every night No heating coming on just a noise. Could it be that there is a slight leak and an inner tank fills back up with water Am i thinking along the right lines ? The plumber?? who fitted it has been back 4 times and still there Any ideas
PS It may happen during the day but being upstairs not being heard downstairs

There should be no direct, permanent connection with the mains water supply. It is connected of course, but only by opening two valves to top up the sealed radiator circuit.
I wonder if there's a chance that these valves are open, or maybe one or other is faulty, and overfilling the system. The pressure read-out would show this up. Excess pressure would then open the pressure relief valve and drain the excess away.
However, that all seems very unlikely.
Modern condensing combis are getting quite complicated. It's quite usual for the installer to refer immediately to the manufacturer for this kind of fault, especially if it's newly installed.
I'm sorry to be of no help, but I think this one ought to be referred to Ferroli.

On second thoughts.......... I was thinking purely of the heating side. Of course there is a mains water connection to the hot water side as well. I wonder if a vale in the hot water system is faulty, and opening up overnight when mains pressure always rises quite considerably (since few people are using it.)
That may be letting water out via a safety valve on the HW side.
