Can anyone tell me if you can still buy the old fashioned hand sewing machines? I could never use an electric one, couldn't control the foot pedal and much prefer turning the handle for slower working.

Yes, there are still many hand operated Singer Sewing machines available second-hand and in great working order, we have one for sale :))

i have seen them for new in shops, still good ole singer but they are few and far between. so glad someone is like me and prefers manuel.

John Leis have always been good for sewing machines, they sell mechanical ones as well as electric and computerised ones.
