New Washing Machine From Argos
19 Answers
good evening
my washing machine spectacularly committed suicide today, after many many years - and so i went to argos on line and bought a new one
i paid the extra for delivery and to take away the old one, and i was wondering if that deal included disconnecting the old one and connecting in the new one - or do they want me to do those bits?
assuming some of you have had a new washing machine from argos recently, i hope to receive a satisfactory response
thank you very much

Did mine myself....dimples !

Argos do a Deliver Install and Recycle service for washing machines...£8.95
Dont just turn the hot supply off at the appliance tap and leave it ...
and whatever else you do dont try to fit a cap on the end of the hot pipe,
it wont fit as the hot pipe has a female end (so does the cap).
Turn the tap off and then remove the old hot hose by unscrewing it.
The 3/4" cap should then be fitted to the exposed threaded section of the tap.
If the tap lever was then to be hit and released by mistake at a later date ... you wont be flooded out.
Better still ... when the delivery van arrives put the kettle on and make two cups of coffe ... 2 chocolate biscuits and a 3/4" appliance cap on the same plate... guaranteed to work.
