Can any one please recommend a colour that will go with Teal/duck egg blue in a bedroom either to tone or contrast. I'm not very good with colours - the room looks good but needs a 'lift'
oooh... burnt orange can go well with dark blue, but are you sure it wouldn't overwhelm a paler blue? I'd go for a bright yellow myself, or white if that doesn't leave everything looking too feeble.
You could try a soft taupe/dark beige that usually goes quite well. We've never changed the colour scheme in bedroom which is the browny colours I suggested and it goes rather well with a duvet cover and accessories in a duck egg blue
I have wallpaper that has teal in it but also has colours green (similar to a light olive green), cerise pink & purple with cream background. All these colours actually go well with teal. Suggest pick up sample paint pots with colours and try colours side by side see what you prefer.
Thank you all for your help. We have one wall papered with teal coloured paper with large dandelion type heads in white and a silvery type shadow - difficult to explain. Bedding is a pale cream self stripe with a teal runner and curtains are teal with a silvery leaf pattern along the top. The other walls are painted almond. We now want to put up some pictures and 'dress' the room. I saw a beautiful photograph today of a bluebell wood - obviously with blues greens and browns but wasn't sure if it would look right. You have made some very interesting suggestions - I will certainly keep my eyes and mind open - Thank you all for your help
