I'll start the Miele queue
Miele...☺
You don't need a new Hoover, you need a new vacuum cleaner.

Hoover is a make the same a Vax or Dyson.
until recently i was a die hard dysoneer but they are expensive. My new Morphy Richards is good.....
I have a Miele...but I still get the hoover out....occasionally ....☺
Miele cat and dog even though I got no pets. It does a great job!!
I also hoover with my Miele
Cat and dog for me too, Nabob....with no pets. Be careful on the skirting boards though....took a strip of wallpaper off with mine.
I had a dog and at first I had a dyson and then an upright Vax same set up as the Dyson tool storage, plastic cylinder for the dirt, buttons and clips everywhere. The Vax was less than £100 on offer in a supermarket. Both machines as good as each other IMO.
I prefer cylinder models. Have used vax and dyson. Currently have a dyson animal dc39 ball. It is not the easiest of vacs to operate, get apart, empty, etc. It is very robust and not for anyone with weak wrists but the suction is better than anything i have had in the past.
If it's suction power you want then go for Miele. On full power mine will lift a 6'x3' rug off the floor.
Dyson are hugely over-priced and over-hyped in my opinion.
Miele. No contest.
Dyson? Arrrgh!! Bought one, used it twice, it reduced my wife to tears. sold it a day or two later. Appliance engineer told me bagless vacuums need a lot more motor power than bagged types, and so can be more likely to fail sooner,
I have the misfortune of having 2 vax cleaners and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
First one was only 3 months old when floor attachment fell apart, Got on the phone to Vax (as a sticker on it tells you to rather than take it back to where you bought it) and found out that although it was a current model that they still produced and sold, they could not supply me with a new attachment. they took my details and said they would get back to me..... Never did. THIS WAS 3 YEARS AGO!!!!
I chased them for a while but then got fed up with getting nowhere so its been in my garage gathering dust ever since.
after 2 months, We needed another vacuum so my wife went out and bought.... ANOTHER BLOODY VAX!!!
This one works but its not the greatest even though its meant to cope with pets and hair and cost £100, every now and again it just cuts out and wont play for a day or so. Have called the customer services and they say its just getting too hot. Why does it get too hot after 10 or 15 minutes? No idea!
Its also got the most ridiculous way of emptying it that means half of whatever you've collected spills put and has to be vacuumed up again.
I HOPE SOMEONE FROM VAX READS THIS AND SORTS OUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHODDY PRODUCTS!!
dyson
