Additional Cats At This Time Of Year In Rescues..
8 Answers
Hi All,
Just a quick note rather than a question.
There is an increasing trend for students to have a cat/s as a pet whilst in student houses at university.
At this time of year a lot of local sanctuaries are taking in additional rescues from the students who are moving back abroad, or who are going home and have handed in their cat/s, or in a few sad cases where the cat/s have been abandoned in the house and the LL/ public have called the rescue in. I will add at this point that the majority of pet owning students ARE 100% responsible owners and take their pets with them when they leave, but a lot still don't.
So, if you have a spare tenner lying about, why not buy some food or supplies for your local rescue this month, many have 'wish lists' on amazon that will deliver the items straight to their address. Or, if you can fit another cat into your house, think about it at least.
That's all there is to say from me, hope it helps the rescues out there.

Holiday makers come to Spain, feed the cats well throughout the summer and then leave at the beginning of October, during which time kittens are swarming all over the place.
We ( the Island) have two cat sanctuaries which house about 80 abandoned cats which need looking after.
A German vet flies to the island twice a year with vet. students and they neuter all the cats that can be caught.
Donations are given and the local vets are very understanding with their fees.
Yes, good post by Peas........stump up the tenners.
