With great difficulty, a lot of hard work and plenty of elbow grease.

My neighbour removed a room full ... and he will never do it again. Within a couple of hours he was gasping for breath. It seems that the wood chips can develop spores which become airborne when disturbed through scraping.
He was in a hospital bed for weeks with a lung infection.
Personally I would wear a proper mask and hire the equipment from a hire shop ... anything to make it easier.

Thank you everyone, I am starting next week. I have a steamer so that is a start.

The old steamer should shift it. Score the wallpaer in afew places with the edge of your scraper so the steam can get behind the paper more quickly. If it's had lots of emulsion applied over the years, it may come off in big satisfying chunks.

So not to dishearten you....mine came off pretty easily. We scored it with a stanley and attacked it with a steamer. It came off in sheets.

Our first house was covered in the stuff, it took so long to remove that it made me cry. I'm sure the previous owners used superglue to put it up.
