Some time next year I propose to get all downstairs and hall, stairs and landing - painted and carpeted. I know my colours. Also am removing a fireplace and hoping to have an electric fire in the wall so to speak which will give me a little room.
However some years back I paid a lot of money for my curtains in the living room and their match in dining room. Because of new colours I will have to change curtains and am desponding at this bit because of the price of them at the time. Is it time for me to let go (yes, I know they are only curtains) but they did cost the earth. The curtains really are the only thing in keeping me back with the decorating all in all. thanks for any suggestions. It will be next year - maybe after Xmas. It is 10 years since decorating was done in these areas.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.thanks Mamy - the colour scheme I have at the moment goes with the curtains very well but am going right round with new colours next year. The curtains are mustardy and very heavily lined with lots of folds so look really good with also a frill on top of them which has lots of folds. I so love the curtains - if there was such a thing as "dyeing" them I would.
I'll try again jj and see if you answer. If your local dry cleaners don't dye, then perhaps these people could help you. They look the business:-)

Thanks Ladybirder - for going to the trouble of the link. If I was to do all the things I plan - I am guessing grey/silver curtains to match carpet I have in mind- I do have a wooden floor but promised myself if ever I decorated the house again I would carpet the heap - no matter what I do think carpet is far far warmer than wood. Anyhoo - it will be next year and perhaps I will have got tired of these curtains. Thanks all.
