New Mattress

Would any of you know if it would be just as comfortable to buy a new mattress and put it onto the old base or to buy whole bed (new)

I am hoping to buy a Dunlopillo mattress. Thanks for any replies.

If the base is in good condition just get the mattress.

Mazie I don't know LOl - like a bit of a spring to it (I think) will look in the morning as mattress weighs a ton.

Do any of you have Dunlopillo - that was one mattress that stood out in my head when I was young as sista, myself and mother slept on it for 10 years - and it was only double.

Also I have only recently heard of FeatherandBlack mattresses. Maybe it would be a bad thing to buy online cos of my pains and aches.

If the base is old the chances are it's not very good. I'd buy a whole new bed.

And don't buy on-line unless you try it out in a shop first so you know exactly what you're getting.

Is it a Divan or a wooden frame bed. I prefer Divan beds

We've just bought a Simba mattress online - it's amazing! If you don't like it within 90 days I think you can just send it back. And I suffer with a bad back too. It's incredibly good.

Maybe I've had a beer too many but; finding it difficult to see what would make the base unsuitable. If sturdy it is surely ok. Heck, one can stick the mattress on the floor and the floor would be fine; why not the base too ?

What naomi said about trying it first is a must. I'm really sensitive to the type of bed I sleep in. Can't be too hard or too soft

There's not a great deal of saving in using the old base, also you can be sure that the new complete bed will match in design and importantly, size - not a given by any means. I would recommend a memory foam mattress, but you should always try before you buy! and don't skimp on the expense! you are going to spend one third of your remaining life lying on it.....
