Venetian Blind Cleaning.

I've recently bought a flat for the rental market. The previous owner has left six quality wooden venetian blinds that are filthy. Other than using a damp cloth, difficult near the cords, can anybody suggest an easier way, I cleaned one and it took me an hour and a half.

Thanks Mamylynne, tried one off those, only really works with light dust. The flat has suffered with damp so the dirt is coating the slatts.

You can get foam similar to that which you can use wet.

I'd get those Flash wipe type things and run them across the slats. They'll probably lift the dirt quite easily.

I am just after paying for a girl to do all my venetians last Friday - charged me £80 for the lot. She took them down and put them up. That was quite larged size blinds 10 I think - they are so hard to on your own.

That's what Sam says, yes - the previous owner has left them that way.

I'm blaming the previous owner but he left them at no cost to me. The tenant was a little lacking in the housework department, you should have seen the bathroom, my wife refused to enter it. The lost tribe of The Amazon were living in the garden.

I have sent mine out to a company for cleaning they take them down, clean then deliver and put back up, don't recall it being too expensive .
