There was a lot of baked on stuff on the bottom of my electric oven - I've got a lot of it off, but there's still a bit left which I can't get off, and don't want to take a scouring brush or knife to .. any ideas as to how I can get the rest of this burnt stuff off, please? Cheers, Chox.

Would've thought a blunt scraper could be used carefully. Otherwise you need to soften it. How about heating water in a bowl inside the oven ? Maybe with a splash of vinegar or lemon juice in it ?

Those suggestions sound great - will give them a try - and perhaps try a gentle scrape when the oven is still warm (although, obviously, not extremely hot!) Many thanks, OG .... chox.

When you've got it clean buy a liner. They're a few quid and you can just wash them (or even chuck them).

thanks for the reminder barmaid, I think I've got one or two somewhere. Forgot about them. But the oven instructions specfically say not to put anything on the floor of the oven - so not sure whether I can use one of these liners or not. Any thoughts?

I've just bought Astonish oven cleaner their stuff is normally pretty good. I'll let you know howI get on. Have you tried a Brillo pad?

Astonish oven cleaner is amazing . Advertised befor Christmas on TV and sold out time after time .I had to wait ages but well worth the wait . Not expensive and there is enough to keep for another time .Non caustic rubber gloves not needed .

well worth it . Not expensive and will last a while and non caustic don't need rubber gloves.
