Our Mattress Now Too Heavy To Turn - Any Bed Experts To Help Please?

We bought a Myers Indulge 1600 latex mattress 18 montha ago and are finding t very difficult to turn as we are very elderly. It is 3 or 4 inches thicker than our old 'interior spring? The size is King

We have a good quality new base with drawers so if we replace it with a spring type mattress of good quality will that be a lot lighter please? We do not mind paying a premium price and are thinking of going in to alocal bed shop and actually try and lift it to guage the weight.

Any suggestions please?

How often does it require to be turned?

My pocket sprung mattress expressly states that it must not be turned.

I would not recommend that one or any mattress as we all have our own needs and preferences. It is perfect for me, you may hate it.
All of these are non-turn but I would strongly advise you to go to the shop and test them yourself. Not this shop, one local to you

It'd be a shame to replace such a good quality mattress. We have Dunlopillo latex mattresses on all the beds...yes, they are heavy but the manufacturer states that they should not be turned.

I think that non-turning mattresses should probably be rotated to swop the head end for the foot end, without turning the mattress over. That might be easier, if you've got room to swivel the mattress without actually having to lift it.

I agree with Atheist - rotate it rather than turn it over.

Thanks Barry and everyone - yes sorry I meant rotate rathe r than turn!
This is quite a heavy beast it is 30cm thick and I was told the latex added to the weight.
Used to have a SNight Mirocoil which was only 25cm,
Will try as you said a local independent shop.
