Starmer says he moved the painting of Thatcher because he doesn't like people looking down on him.

Better get used to people looking down on him, mostly with contempt.

He has something of the look of a puritanical Cromwellian General about him.

I believe he has the character do the necessary and return us once again to the sun-lit uplands where our economy will thrive.

Would you want a portrait of a witch in your house Gramps?

I honestly don't get the drama about this.

It's just a painting. It was moved by the current tenant because he didn't like it.

I think we have bigger issues to concern ourselves with.

perhaps rishi left some indecent stains on it

I don't blame him either, it must be awful having to look at the woman who cleared up the mess after the last real Labour government. Worse still to know that no matter what he does he'll never have her power, her gravitas, her genius, her sheer endeavour, her courage, her sheer will. He'll never get an insult from the Russians to wear like a badge and turn into the ultimate compliment. He'll never change the world and win the cold war. He'll never walk into Moscow welcomed by a grateful Russian leader himself liberated from the horror of communism. No wonder he wants the picture taken down.

Hyperbole is next to godliness.

The point is, it isn't about him removing the picture, but more about that he cannot bear somebody, in a picture, looking down on him.  That speaks volumes about the mans insecurities.

With only 20% support from the electorate he SHOULD feel insecure. (& now the unions want more wages AND more public spending.)

So Starmer has taken down a portrait of the wicked witch.   😎Rejoice Rejoice😎

"...he doesn't like people looking down on him."

Where did that quote come from?

It sounds like something concocted by the editor of the Mail.

Gramps 16.01 No! They are to protect me from all the Bull shine reflecting off the Tory supporters on AB.
