It is about time that equal weight and educational funding was given to people who are better suited to produce quality products or services with their hands rather than their heads.
Having recently spent time having to wrangle the problems caused by immigrant builders, I am concerned that SKS call for more of them is going to cause mayhem, certainly in the building trade and definitely in greater society.
i agree apprenticeships are the way to go, i remember under thatcher there were colleges that taught bricklaying plumbing plastering welding etc, but they were discontinued ? bad idea. they should bring them back, im sure there are fair few retired who could teach there skills if they wanted to, and of course unemployed builders etc, learn a skill for life, as my dad used to say with knowledge you could go around the world.
