Engine oil stains...

Can anyone please tell me the best way to remove a) heavy car engine oil stains from a slabbed drive , and b) lesser but very annoying stains from the lounge carpet - a standard non-deep-pile where an oily footprint stands out a mile ? My car is leaking oil, and all the garage says is leave it to see if it stabilises, and if it doesn't bring it in to be steam-cleaned and examined to find the leak. Meanwhile, my wife accidentially trod in the oil patch on the drive and brought it indoors..!! Any help woud be gratefully appreciated..!!

Buy a tin of Jizer at the local car acc. shop. Tip it on the stain and leave it for a day or two. Don't worry if it dries in.

It will look a lot worse but after a shower of rain the stain will disappear.

It's similar to Gunk but stronger and without the smell and white residue when it gets wet. Get a bit of cardboard to slide under the car when you park to avoid any more drips onto the drive

Good for carpet stains but don't leave it on the carpet to dry before cleaning with soap and water.

I bet you 're in the dog house ?
